Welcome to Chemical Engineering Department.
Chemical Engineering is a highly practical degree (that will take you from classrooms to laboratories, to real Industry and back again) and it centers on converting one thing to another. The major focus in chemical engineering is synthesis of materials, products and processes that power the modern world while emphasizing on their economic feasibility and also remediation of polluted air, water and soil. Therefore, the Chemical Engineer is skillfully trained to handle complex processes involving research and development, design, construction, plant operation and management. The Chemical Engineer can work in industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Production, Healthcare, Petrochemicals, Food Processing, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology, Environmental Health and Safety among others.
PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES
The philosophy of Chemical Engineering Department of University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL) is to produce chemical engineering graduates with high academic and ethical standards and adequate practical exposure not only for self-employment but also of immediate value to Industry and Community in general.
The main objective of Chemical Engineering Department of University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL) is to provide engineering training for the realization of national needs and aspirations towards industrial development and technological emancipation.
HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
Chemical Engineering Department was founded in 2021 alongside four other Engineering Departments of Faculty of Engineering, Owa Alero Campus, University of Delta, Agbor. The department admitted about 33 pioneering students for full time Bachelor of Engineering Degree program.
